Teutopolis Unit #50 Schools

Congratulations to Mallory Bloemer and Conner Beckman on their recent accomplishments in the weight room. Mallory became only the second female ever at THS to join the 500 Pound Club, she also broke our power clean record with a lift of 150 pounds. Conner became only the third male ever to join the 1,000 Pound Club

To conclude FFA Week activities at the High School, students participated in Tractor Drive-In Day! We have 12 tractors on display today at THS!

Athletic PE at the high school recently completed another Max Week. There was a lot of movement on our boards. A lot of our kids are in-season athletes as well!! #GoShoes 💪👞

Teutopolis High School participated in the ACES Academic Challenge held at Lake Land College. The team placed 3rd in division 700. Several individuals placed in the top three for subject area content. Landyn, Nick, Jenny, Colin, Olivia, and Luke will compete at sectional competition on March 13.

National Honor Society facilitated a school-wide valentines project by providing homerooms with materials to make cards. Emma Deters and TaNeal Einhorn delivered over 200 handmade valentines and a monetary gift to Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center and StoneBridge to show residents love this Valentine's Day.

It was a great night at the TGS and TJHS Band Concert!

Nick Blickem and Landyn Buening earned tuition waivers from Lake Land College at the ACES Academic Competition held on February 2nd. Landyn was a top scorer in Biology and Nick was a top scorer in English. Congratulations boys!

Anna Probst and Ava Ruholl competed in a tough Poetry Out Loud regional in Urbana last night. Although they did not advance to state, they represented THS well. We are proud of you!

3D Solid Modeling class designed and 3D printed a license plate for the district's side by side!

Mr. Fleener's students created a house out of cardboard and a type of insulation of their choice. They insulated the walls and the ceiling with insulation. They also created "attic" space and insulated it as well. Owen Kremer and Aiden Bergfeld created a house that only lost 2 degrees of temperature in the time we left them outside.

Classroom winners of their Poetry Out Loud contest competed against each other at our school-wide contest. Anna Probst and Ava Ruholl won first and second place and advance to regionals on Feb. 8 in Champaign. MJ Dennis earned Honorable Mention, and Mr. Church and Mrs. Fisher were our special guest judges. It was a great day for poetry!

Congratulations to the following students for their performance and hard work at IMEC 2024: Casey Deters-All State Band, Ben Esker-All State Choir, Elaina Gaffin-All State Choir, and Maddie Zane-All State Band. Being an all state musician is the highest honor for a high school student. We are proud of their hard work and dedication!

SPC Gavin Hoene, a Teutopolis High School graduate from the class of 2021, proudly announces another recent addition to the Illinois Army National Guard: PVT Myles Stortzum has committed to serving his country in the Illinois Army National Guard, enlisting as a 35F (Intelligence Analyst). As a current senior at Teutopolis High School, PVT Stortzum intends to use the Army National Guard benefits to finance his college education. Teutopolis High School commends PVT Myles Stortzum, applauding his dedication to service and anticipating his future success.

SPC Gavin Hoene (THS 2021 graduate) is proud to announce one of the newest soldiers in the Illinois Army National Guard. PVT Gavin Tegeler has decided to serve his country in the Illinois Army National Guard, enlisting as a 15T (Blackhawk Helicopter Mechanic). Currently a senior at Teutopolis High School, PVT Tegeler plans to use the Army National Guard benefits he will earn to fund his college education. Teutopolis High School extends its congratulations to PVT Gavin Tegeler and celebrates his commitment to serve and future success.
