8th grade girls win to advance to final 4 in 8-3A state tourney. They play at 6:30 tonight to earn a state championship game on Thursday.

8th grade girls are down 8-7 at halftime of their state quarterfinal game in Germantown Hills.

Mrs. Breer's kindergarteners experimented to find out what materials do and do not float. Then they created boats so that the gingerbread man can beat that tricky fox across the water!

Mrs. Hotze's library classes have been reading Maybe Something Beautiful; How Art Transformed a Neighborhood, by F. Isabel Campoy. "Based on a true story, Maybe Something Beautiful reveals how art can inspire transformation- and how even the smallest artists can accomplish something big." This story was inspired by Rafael Lopez, a muralist from San Diego, California. Mrs. Hotze likes to emphasize the quote from this book to her students, "You, my friends, are all artists. The world is your canvas." This book is one of the twenty 2018 Monarch books that Mrs. Hotze reads throughout the school year with the kindergarten through 3rd-grade students at TGS. In January, these beautiful murals will be on display just outside the library doors.

The 8th grade girls advance to state tourney in Germantown Hills this Saturday at 1:00. The defeated a really good Tuscola team 32-29.

The 8th grade girls are holding on to a 29-24 lead with 2:14 to play. Timeout and Shoes' ball.

The Lady Shoes lead Tuscola 25-18 after 3 quarters.

At the half, the Lady Shoes lead Tuscola 13-10.

After 1 quarter, the Lady Shoes lead Tuscola 7-4 in the 8-3A sectional.

We'll be providing updates from the 8th grade girls sectional at Marshall. It's the Lady Shoes vs. Tuscola for a trip to state this Saturday

Mrs. Jansen's Kindergarten class is trying a Gingerbread Science experiment. What will keep the Gingerbread cookie dry? A cloth? A piece of wood? A sponge? A plastic plate?

Books were purchased with money placed in a donation box at the TGS Book Fair.​ Sixth grade students selected their favorite titles to make a donation to the FISH Christmas store.
